This page will contain the history of Troop 61 from its founding in 1960 to present. Although all attempts are being made to be ensure all information is accurate, history is hard to create with 100 % accuracy. The history page will be a very large undertaking and will therefore be a slow process.

Special Note: On Monday, June 15, 2009, the Finger Lakes Council, BSA board, its chartered organization representatives and members at large voted unanimously to merge with the Otetiana Council. The same evening, the Otetiana Council also voted unanimously to enter into a merger with our council.
The Troop's first charter was in 1960. Our charter started with The First Presbyterian Church, Victor New York.
In December of 2008, our charter was taken over by Saint Johns Lutheran Church, Victor New York.
